Normally, WILMS works with the Sergé 5% collection, a collection of glass fibre cloths (48% glass fibre – 58% PVC- coating), especially developed for outside application. The screen shows the best hanging conduct of all of the available collections. Besides, this screen keeps up to 90% of the warmth outside. The correct percentage depends of the colour.
The screen is resistant to water, UV-radiation, cold and warmth. It can be rolled up wet. Besides, the fabrics are form-retaining between -35°C and 50°C and they are inflammable. (class M1)
The openness factor, the amount of openings in the screen, is approximately 5%. When selecting the cloth, we can also pay attention to its purpose. Even the width of the roll depends on the chosen colour.
AS (αe,B): Solar absorption (% solar energy that is absorbed by the screen).
The lower the fraction, the more energy gets absorbed by the screen. Dark colours absorb more energy and they pass more warmth.
RS (ρe,B): Solar reflectance (% of the incident solar radiation that is directly reflected by the screen).
The lower the fraction, the more energy gets reflected on the screen.
TS (τe,B): Solar transmittance (% solar energy that gets through the screen).
The lower the fraction, the more energy gets through the screen. AS + RS = sunproof effect - AS + RS + TS = 100%
TV (τv,B): Visual light transmittance (% visible light that will be transmitted).
The lower this factor, the better for the eyes.
G/tot: Total solar energy transmittance (the amount of solar energy that gets through the protected glass).
The values are based on the screen, combined to double glass.
The lower the fraction, the less of the total energy that enters the house.
OF: Openness Factor.
The lower the fraction, the more transparent the screen is. Dark colours give a better see-through than lighter colours.
